Whether it’s the melodic journey of “Something” or the walking bassline in “I Saw Her Standing There,” he’s got it covered with grace and style.
BERNIE (GUITAR)
With the nimbleness of Harrison and the flair of Lennon, Bernie is the band’s melodic anchor. He can move from a gentle “Here Comes the Sun” fingerpicking to the screeching solo in “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” with ease. He’s just as comfortable channeling John’s rhythm guitar as he is diving into George’s intricate solos. His commitment to recreating the Beatles’ sound is second to none.
BILLY COCKRELL
Billy is a wizard on the strings, bringing the rich tapestry of the Beatles’ guitar work to life in each performance. His precise, nuanced playing adds depth and color to our sound, whether it’s the beautiful chords in “Blackbird” or the rock ‘n’ roll energy of “Drive My Car.” His passion for the Beatles shines through every note he plays.
STEVE SWANSON
Our keys maestro is our secret weapon, the invisible glue that binds our sound together. With his deft fingers and expansive knowledge of the Beatles’ catalog, he adds the subtle touches that make our renditions feel authentic and vibrant. Whether it’s the iconic piano in “Let It Be” or the whimsical mellotron in “Strawberry Fields Forever,” he brings a touch of magic to every performance.
ROB HEBENSTREIT
Our newest addition, Rob provides the driving rhythmic foundation that propels The Beat 5’s performances. With his versatile drumming skills and deep appreciation for Ringo Starr’s creativity, he locks in the groove on uptempo rockers like “Day Tripper” and adds fills and accents that bring out nuances in slower tunes like “Come Together.” His rock-steady timekeeping and intuitive playing make him the perfect drummer to complete The Beat 5’s Fab Four sound. Offstage, Rob is as warmhearted and witty as his legendary counterpart, bringing a fun Beatle charm to our shows. We’re thrilled to have Rob on board providing the backbeat for The Beat 5.
